Petroleum trading is the pillar industry in Southern Star. We insist on the sustained business conception of “market exploitation and steady Development”. Since 2000, approved by State Economic and Trade Commission, we have obtained wholesale petroleum products approval certificate. We also have obtained the right of import fuel oil approved by the Ministry of Commerce since 2005.The product line developed from fuel warehousing and sales to the current variety of fuel oil, diesel, petrol, kerosene and lubricating oil. Meanwhile, we have established good cooperation relations with suppliers home and abroad, such as BP, Shell Oil Company, Mitsui Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation , Sinopec,Petronas and so on. Our service network covers the whole South China and expedites supply and sales channels.

In 2006, Southern Star Company was the only private enterprise who became one of the top ten fuel oil importers in China, ranking tenth. The total import of fuel oil reached 710,000 tons. In 2008, The US sub-prime crisis brought financial crisis which swept through the whole world and a catastrophic impact on the world economy financial system. We Southern Star Company remained resilient and exercised better risk management, turned these crises into opportunity. The total import of fuel oil ranked fifth in the ten major fuel oil importers in South China and ninth in the ten major fuel oil importers in China.

Petroleum trading helped to create a favorable environment for development and provided a more solid foundation for the future development of other businesses.
